Following a career as a software developer in the automotive industry, he started the family business together with his wife Natalia. Aircraft owners and builders in Germany and across Europe quickly recognized Sandelving's business as an efficient and reliable supplier of Aircraft Spruce parts. Sandelving Aviation Supply stock several thousand Aircraft Spruce products available for immediate delivery. Non-stocking parts are retrieved from Aircraft Spruce through their consolidated air freight program, taking place twice a week. Sandelving Aviation Supply also specialize in supplying oversize, as well as hazardous materials at affordable freight rates throughout Europe. Aircraft Spruce & Speciatly Company was founded by Bob and Flo Irwin in the summer of 1956 at Fullerton Municipal Airport in California, USA. During the first years, the company sold only one product, which was aircraft grade spruce lumber. Since then, Aircraft Spruce has grown to become one of the world's largest supplier of aircraft parts and pilot supplies.
Jim Irwin - the son of Bob and Flo - acquired the company in 1980. Aircraft Spruce is now headquartered in Corona, California, with additional warehouses in Peachtree City, Georgia and in Brantford, Canada. Until today, Aircraft Spruce remains a family business.
Sandelving Aviation Supply became an official Aircraft Spruce representative for Germany and Europe in 2008. We quickly established ourselves as a major supplier of aircraft parts for general aviation. Our growth is a result of the loyalty of our customers.
