The SIRS "Navigator" delivers extremely accurate readings due to its fully integrated, 4 magnet correction facility. A similar design is used on the Concord, and many civil and military aircraft. It has the same features as the "Pegasus", but is mounted with a fully adjustable bracket that allows attachment to a variety of positions including the glare-shield or the windshield. This allows the compass to be located away from magnetic influences. Size: 203/8" H x 2-1/4" W. The "Navigator" comes in lighted or unlighted versions, and has a 3-year warranty.

The Navigator comes with an adhesive pad to adhere it to a windshield or glareshield.

What is the mounting hole spacing on this model?
This has a 3M adhesive sticky pad on is but has two mounting holes. Center hole to center hole is 1 inch.

Is this compass suitable for use aboard a medium sailboat?
This compass is designed and certified for use with aircraft and we do not have any data supporting non aviation use.

Is the lighted SIRS model equipped with LED lighting or is it an incandescent source?
The lighted versions use a blue LED light.

Is the SIRS Navigator Overhead Compass FAA Approved for installation in certified general aviation aircraft?
Yes, this product is FAA TSO Approved for installation in certificated aircraft.

Is the adhesive tape strong enough to support the compass weight over a number of years? Since the canopy is not perfectly flat is there some compliance in the stick on pad to ensure adequate bonding?
We have not had any complaints for the compass not adhering to the windshield. It comes with a 3 year warranty which includes the adhesive strip.

Will the 28 volt lighted compass work on a 12 volt battery?
No, you will need a step down converter. For certified, see part number 11-03309. For experimental, see part 11-02963 or 11-12192.

Do these Sirs Navigator Overhead compasses, specifically 10-00496, come with TSO-cert in the box?
